Marketing Your Products on Social Web

Buy and Sell

Social web offers exciting new opportunities to small businesses. Not only it is useful to create buzz around your products and services, it is also very useful when it comes to selling your products. Social web can help you in many ways to increase sell while also generating brand awareness.

1. The Social Platforms

There are many different social networking websites online. Some are more well known than others. Twitter and Facebook dominate the market but they are not the entire social web. In fact there are many social websites focused entirely on their selective niches and industries. Do not ignore such websites because they can offer you a very targeted audiences to connect with. Pay attention to your web design and modify it to accommodate different social networking sites.

2. Multimedia Society

Web is not just about static text and images. Remember that YouTube is also a social networking website, and there are many other social networking sites focused on multimedia content. It is a proven fact that marketing through audio and video channels can provide a boost to brand identity as well as direct sales.

3. Be Human

There are countless marketeers on social websites these days, they all make the most common mistake that any one could make on social web. They force their message on other people and most of their communication is one sided. People would respond more to your social web activities if they realize that they can communicate with you and that you have genuine interest in social web.

The Sale Logo Design

Sales, solden soldes....

Selling goods is an integral part of the marketing and advertising. Sometimes small businesses try to entice their clients by offering them exclusive discounts, clearance sale, and other offers for a limited time period. To advertise these special offers means more marketing focused on these specific campaigns. How these target and time limited marketing campaigns can be made more effective?

Make it visually appealing. People are bored of seeing the old Sign of SALE on a Red background or White background with Red typeface. There is so much more that can be done to convey the exact same message. For example the company's logo design can be modified to highlight the specially offer. Or new bold colors can be used for experimentation on what works best on different demographics.

Instead of making it sound like a routine sale, each and every promotion should be designed to look like it is the one and the only thing that has ever happened to the business. I remember watching the out-of-business-sale logo once and it looked so tempting and promising. Despite the fact that the business was not shutting down but moving to a new larger location.

Recipe for Design Disaster

In this post we will describe how a small business can destroy its reputation and business by making bad design choices:

  1. Hiring a bad logo design company.

Logo design is the most essential tool in any businesses’ brand building strategy. Hiring a bad logo design company would result into a bad logo that would be ineffective in a business’s attempt to build and identity for itself in the market.

  2. A horrible web design.

With the arrival of free content management system, every tom, dick, and harry thinks that they can create their own website. Well yes you can, but your website will be in effective, pathetic and most users would click away from your website because of your design deficiency. Besides that one needs to realize that it is the job of a web designer to build websites because they know how to do it. Reading some web design blog will not make you a web designer. To do a web design right one needs experience, expertise and essentially the sense of the web as a media.

  3. Designing their own marketing material.

Same as above though this implies that a business starts designing their brochures and banners using MS paint. I have seen small businesses that buy the mind bogglingly expansive Adobe graphic editing software and start doing their own graphics without any knowledge of fine arts, design and graphic design software. Come on people wake up! Instead of buying a $2000 software you can hire some one to do your banner design for as low as $40.

Smart Businesses and Graphic Design Boom

The global economic crisis affected every one. Job cuts in many sectors such as automobile, real estate, banking, and manufacturing resulted into great number of people losing their jobs. Finding jobs again was particularly difficult for people who had skills in the industries that were suffering the most from the economic crisis. Many of them then tried to open their own small businesses.

These small businesses brought hope that it would bring economic activities back but those activities didn’t bounce back the way we expected them. The reason was that the new small businesses were too smart to pay anyone else. However some industries got a lot of work from these new businesses; particularly the web design, hosting and graphic design businesses.
The new small businesses care a lot about things such as social media marketing, online marketing, web presence and brand identity. They understand the potential of the internet and try to exploit it as much as they possibly could and to do that the first thing they need is a website, with a business logo design.

New small businesses made smart decisions and provided a boost to the Social Media Marketing industry, creating more opportunities there and by bringing businesses to social platforms they started building communities around their business. Such activities created strong consumer loyalty and branding needs increased for businesses to do well on social platforms. Graphic design in particular is doing great in these times. As most of the time small businesses need logo design, banner design or other cute graphics to go along with their promotional campaigns on their social media campaigns.
